I sit by her, hand on heart.
I breathe in, and
she retreats,
building energy,
a gentle repose,
a vital fullness,
a evanescent pause.
I breathe out, and
she rushes forward,
bathing me in devotion,
I am cherished in her power,
my angst discharged,
my ails soothed.
I sit by her, hand on heart,
And so we embrace again.

I collaborated with seven writers to bring their themes of water to my latest body of work. Each creative chose a piece that resonated and wrote the words true to them.
is an Australian Fine Artist and Creativity Guide specializing in deepening our relationship with the natural world through intricate nature-inspired fine art and soul-nourishing creative courses.Natalie and I have crossed paths in more ways than one. She collected A Geology of Color way back in July 2021. We both found ourselves in a group program and then again on Substack. To say we are kindred spirits, I think, would be an understatement. Our conversation was about grief but also light in connection.
I love this concept of collaborating your art with writers! There's so much creative work I'd love to make and I often feel held back because of the writing element. This is a wonderful way to work with other creatives, thanks for the inspiration - you've got my mind ticking.
This is so lovely, Natalie. Love that you're part of this project too!
