Kkhhhhrrrrrrrsshhhhh
Crumbling into particles
Smaller now
Wwhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Down
A soft echo
Hhhhhhhssssssssss
White gold froth
Blue gray green
Netted strands, fading
Stippled melanin, deepening
Furrowed ripples, releasing
Ahhhhhhh Hauuuuuu
Ahhhhhhh Hauuuuuu
Ahhhhhhh Hauuuuuu
Words by Emily Zadoretzky
I collaborated with seven writers to bring their themes of water to my latest body of work. Each creative chose a piece that resonated and wrote the words true to them.
Emily Zadoretzky is an eco-conscious sustainable artist, designer and writer interested in examining themes of deep ecology, kinship, and the interconnectedness of humans with each other and with all other beings of this earth.
Emily and I connected in 2021, and since have shared many conversations about the themes relevant to our art. Our conversations are always rich and thoughtful. I loved her playfulness of words to bring this piece to life.
Emily’s words definitely remind me of a children’s book! Specifically the book “We’re going on a bear hunt”.
