Dear reader,
I am writing you from Maryland but my heart is very much with the heroes in LA.
The turn of the new year can bring about so much nervous energy. I feel myself slip inside my head. Here, I am surrounded by thoughts of what new beginnings can mean - now is the time to start everything fresh, now, now, now… But I gracefully push away that thought. That’s not where I am right now. That is not this moment.
While there are many things I would like to do this year, there is also so much I want to, I need to release. Release my breath, release my stress, release what is no longer serving me. I am practicing showing up as the woman who makes these decisions with confidence. I am showing up as I imagine the highest version of myself would.
I think the greatest reset, the greatest beginning, is every moment. Each inhale and exhale invites the opportunity to feel my body, tune into my environment, and adjust whatever it is I need to.
Wishing you a HNY.
NEW VIDEO
I am excitedly working on my very first long-form video for YouTube. I am starting this journey because I want to bring more storytelling into my creativity. And I’ve long been inspired by cinematography. It’s a new way for me to work, and I am eager to bring you into this place where I have found such synergy working between digital and analog processes. You can subscribe to my channel here and watch my first upload later this week.
I am currently reading two different books that are simultaneously heartbreaking memoirs — I Cried to Dream Again and What My Bones Know.
I am just starting a sourdough starter (for the first time, ever) and if I love it, I have my eyes on this.
