I’m happy you were able to say no when you didn’t feel like it was your call to compete. Sometimes hobbies are meant to stay “hobbies”. I also think it’s beautiful you’ve found a way to incorporate water into your art ✨
So many gems here, Lauren. Thank you for sharing. I love how you resisted the competition of it all.
I was terrified of the water as a young child, but slowly grew to love it. Not swimming, so much (I hate cold water!), but just being by or on the water. I've always loved taking a rowboat out, in search of Turtles mostly. Lately I've been going to the river and sitting with her a lot. I love stones and rocks too, so... And when it was really hot, I took my Pink noodle to a beautiful mountain lake around here that is usually mostly devoid of people. Heaven on Earth.
I feel that water is playing a huge role in our consciousness rising now on the planet. You probably know about Veda Austin and her work with water. Here's a lovely interview with Pam Gregory, one of my favorite astrologers. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uNp0gsK_G-8&t=2642s Wondering if you have much Pisces in your birth chart. I think I have next to none! 💙
Your pink noodle in the middle of the mountain sounds like a dream! I’m not much for cold water, either. And being in the northern hemisphere it really limits my “water” time to ~3 months. I do love being near the water though, even if I’m too much a wimp to get in!
I actually am not aware of Veda Austin - and now that I’m thinking about it I wonder what the duality of water is against my fire sign! I’ve never really looked too far into my birth chart.
I also feel this deep connection to water, a sense of peace comes over me as soon as I sense a body of water is close by. Swimming holds such a special place in my heart and even though I feel oh so comfortable in the water, getting into the water doesn't always come easy.
I feel this so deeply, Pippa! I’m not much for cold water - and being in the northern hemisphere it really only offers ~3 months of *maybe* I’ll get in time. But I’ll take being close to the water any day and in any season 🖤
So poetic :) Thank you for sharing! In the past couple of months, whenever I pass by any kind of water, I stop and observe the movement of water. I also make mini videos zoomed in to capture the motion. It is very mesmerising that water can create these beautiful patterns without force. It's like a beautiful painting. Sometimes there are trees nearby, and they make a beautiful reflection onto the water, which is even more magic. I've considered using all these videos in my art practice. Maybe the time hasn't come yet.
Thank you! Mmm I love that you’re taking the time to simply observe the water. Your videos sound really beautiful. I picture the patterns you might have captured in my mind. The tree reflections sound fascinating! I’d love to see them one day.
Beautiful words ❤️
Thank you for recently recommending me! Your work is lovely! 🌿

I didn't find out my full astrology until I was in my fifties! So much makes sense now.
Veda is amazing! Check out her website. So many astrologers and others are really feeling into water now. It's so interesting. 💙
Beautifully written Lauren!
