Dear reader,
Last week, I started gathering photos from 2024 for a new art print. I didn’t take each picture to be a Photograph — they’re a little more raw, and unrefined, with less-than-perfect lighting and compositions. I snapped the shutter at the moment because something right then was just interesting like it elicited this fleeting feeling.
Culling through them and placing them together in a singular composition showed me a lot of different things. It was interesting to see a very evident style present itself. I immediately noticed the colors I tend to navigate towards. The subjects that I pay close attention to. And even how I see things. More than that, I also saw how bringing together these seemingly minor moments tallied something greater than the part. Stepping back, all these small, insignificant moments became proof of life lived.
This print unintentionally became a record of my middle. I have a deep appreciation for every time I tuned into my curiosity, and was willing to create without expectation. This week, I will share the full-length video for how I made the print on my YouTube channel.

NEW VIDEO
My newest video shows what happens when I surrender to an idea and walk through the messy middle. The result was unexpected, and I love it so much.
Quiet, please. I shared this article about the remarkable power of silence with so many people this week. I think you’ll love it, too.

Love it, Lauren! I’ve always loved collage, too, even when I was very young. Always wanted to put words and numbers into my paintings and drawings. Thx for the inspiration. Loved your video. I’m definitely in incubation mode. 💕
