Dear reader,
At the start of this year, I had an exciting project idea that I was eager to start working on. It was fresh and new, and I dove in right away. I started writing and got pretty far with it, and then I paused.
I felt the idea could be more—that I could continue shaping it until it was exactly what I wanted it to be. I left it for an entire month and a half. Found myself in a threshold. Kept circling back with my thoughts. Asking more and more questions about it. Until the lightbulb went off. And I knew exactly what this idea could be and what I needed from it. And as I navigate what is unfolding for me, I’d love to show you the process of how I collect inspiration, mull over thoughts, and bring projects to life.
I’ve transitioned a lot in my business over the last two years. Most of it was for sanity reasons—and the need to build something that my body could actually sustain. It’s taken patience, resilience, a slow shaping of both old and new containers I want to work in. Something has felt missing though. Like the way I naturally move through my process doesn’t quite have the right container.
I want to create something of a gallery container. A place where I can better share the concepts, subjects, themes, and ideas I’m working within. Something playful, perhaps a little experimental. An experience. A way to elevate all that goes into being a process artist.
I’ve created a lot of containers at this point (products, mentorships, books, co-ops, and classes), but have never built something quite like this. It’s bigger, more personal. A stage. Something I can only hope is the future. Is the end of this transition. And becomes the heart of my work.
As I create, prepare, and release this new idea, I thought I could share my process with you so you can see the messy journey we all experience. Help you feel less alone. And more supported to lean into your foundations.
Welcome to my Notion page! If you participated in Process Class, you know that I use Notion nearly every day to help me sort all that I collect, synthesize my observations, and plan newsletters, collections, classes, and more. I’ll update this Notion page as I work through the build out of this project. And I’ll link to it in my bi-weekly letters so you can continue checking in.
I don't yet have a timeline for this project (I will update my Notion page as soon as I do!). But I cannot wait to learn how this unfolds, and I can only hope you find kinship in embracing the process.
Warmly,
Lauren
I’m so excited to see your process unfold!!!
