I throughly enjoyed listening to this Lauren, thank you. I’ve been doing a lot more work around seasons this year. Writing my thoughts down on a regular basis and what I’m noticing is how ebb and flow I am. You’re right we are ‘own’ season, and yes sometimes it’s dictated to by the earthly seasons, but often we have our own cycle going. And I think once we realise this, life can feel less challenging. Reading our own words back and seeing that yes this is a time for rest, action, discovery, etc. 🧡
Hi Honey! I’m catching up on a couple of things I missed while on my break. I love your reflections on seasons. Specifically taking the time to inventory your experiences so that you can find your own cadences/seasons to match up with. I think I did a lot of that in 2023, which felt like a year with zero progress, but now this year I’m seeing that pay off tremendously. I’d love to hear other reflections you’re having!
Hey Lauren, great to hear you has a break. I think I can already see some progress on writing down what is important to me for this year. If managed to weave in a creative film project into my life whilst still don’t client work, which has always felt impossible. But it’s the constant remained of what is important to me for this season that has really helped me find time.
Hi Lauren, I really enjoyed this podcast. I don't know if you are aware of Ayurveda, but so much of it revolves around seasons (there are only three) and the elements. I won't get into it because I'll never stop (it changed my life and helped me heal.) But your thoughts were so in sync with its principles. It's kind of ridiculous that we have set dates for seasons as the weather is forever back-and-forthing and we, as part of Nature feel that so deeply.
It's also spring where I live (Kapha Season) and I have struggled the past few weeks like you - feeling off, unmotivated, etc. Things are finally greening up, the snow is mostly gone, and temps are rising. Yet, I feel like a Bear not quite ready to come out of my cave. I long to be painting and writing again and yet I am stuck. I am 70 now and have done this my entire life! According to Ayurveda, it is the season of earth and water and we can often feel stuck-in-the-mud. Makes so much sense.
This is so interesting to read, and I’m fascinated how in sync I am with its principles. I’ll definitely be adding Ayurveda to my research list! It sounds like I have so much to learn. I’m curious how it helped with you healing, too.

I have an Ayurveda section on my Substack and try to keep it really digestible. 🩷
